The Toxic Avenger is a musical adaptation of a cult classic movie. I leaned into the camp, and embraced a low budget aesthetic. It was a fun exercise to find a balance of intentional mistakes and inconsistencies. We needed a mask to transform our leading man into a crime fighting toxic mutant. I collaborated with our props designer, who built the mask from my rendering.

One specific challenge of the show is a duet between the evil mayor and the protagonists mother, who are played by the same actress. I designed costumes that could be rapidly quick changed during the song. The number ends with the actress literally split down the middle in a half and half costume, including a two sided wig.
